If you want the vibes of iconic European movies like Under the Tuscan Sun, Mamma Mia, or Before Sunrise, my travel recommendation might surprise you - Portugal! This tiny but powerful country located on the Iberian peninsula is the place to be. Portugal is perfection. It has old-world charm, stunning architecture, world-renowned wines, Fado music, and incredible dining options. On my visit there, I spent most of my time in Lisbon with two short hops to Obidos and Douro. Next time I visit, I’ll be heading straight to the Algarve.
Not to mention a few other perks- It is the shortest flight across the Atlantic Ocean from the US, it is friendly to English speakers without being overrun by tourism, and it is more cost-effective than other more popular European cities such as Greece and Italy. What Inspired Me This Week…
After the holidays, I always feel I need to do a quick reset on my spending habits. I stumbled upon The Art of Frugal Hedonism and it has been a delightful reset that focuses on relishing in life.
One quote has helped me control my spending and enjoy life more day-to-day, “Imagine you had paid for the experience you were having right now.” How would that change your perspective? For me, it has helped me enjoy casual dinners with friends, walks outside, and a trip to my library so much more.
