Destination Dreamin'

Every Christmas since 2019 I make a barszc, (beet soup), and every New Year I make as many pierogies as my patience allows. What sort of magical and cozy destination would cause me to start traditions unrelated to my ancestry or heritage? Only Poland can do that! If you’re a midwesterner like me and you have the chance to visit Warsaw or Krakow in the wintertime, you’ll be delighted by the similarities and feel like you’re at home the second you depart the plane. Gentle snowfall, cozy fires, and the best soup and dumplings (pierogies) this planet has to offer.

What Inspired Me This Week…

I’ve gone down the best sort of rabbit hole this week, an Amy Poehler rabbit hole! I devoured her MasterClass on how to “Prepare to Be Unprepared,” and ate up her book Yes Please in just one week. She is a hilarious, generous, and honest spirit that has walked through the first half of life with her eyes and heart wide open. Not to mention, she’s a fellow self-acclaimed enneagram 8 - no wonder I like her so much.

Travel Deals

It has been a goal of mine to travel to the continent of Asia before my 30th birthday, (the clock is ticking on that one…) so I couldn’t help but notice the super low prices to fly to Tokyo the past two weeks! From some major destinations, the price is below $800.
